Job description

Young people often have great difficulties finding their way and growing into authentic, considerate, self-responsible, and loving personalities. Supporting them in this is the concern of Second Home Youth Welfare. Our team consists of professionals with different qualifications who professionally design the pedagogical-therapeutic process within their different fields.

As we are expanding, we need further reinforcement in pedagogical/therapeutic care and are looking for a Social Pedagogue / Educator or similar (m/f/d) as a pedagogical or therapeutic professional.

Your tasks:

  •         Working with children and adolescents and their families

  •         Meaningful structuring and coping with everyday life in a residential group

  •         Cooperation with Child Protective Services, schools, training providers, and authorities

  •         Accompanying appointments

  •         Counseling and support in dealing with crisis situations

  •         Documentation of relevant observations

Job requirements

Your profile:

  •         Completed vocational training or studies in the above-mentioned areas

  •         Appreciation towards colleagues and young people

  •         Ability to collaborate professionally with management and the team

  •         Teamwork skills and interest in long-term employment

  •         Proactiveness and creative handling of crises and daily routines

  •         Ability to work with a group of up to nine sometimes behaviorally challenging children and adolescents

  •         Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines

  •         High sense of responsibility towards children

  •         Willingness to work shifts and weekends

  •         Driver's license for a class B vehicle

  •         Ideally, you already have experience in dealing with autism and with children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years.

  • German language skills at a minimum B2 level, enabling professional communication and documentation.
